Subsea THRUSTER SWAP 80 nautical miles offshore

Removal and installation performed in open sea, without dry-docking the unit, in an area with an approximate water depth of 2,500 metres. A pioneering operation planned and executed by TWAS.

TWAS Delivers Technical Presentations at Foresea’s Drilling Academy

Invited by Foresea, TWAS participated in both editions of the 2025 Drilling Academy Workshop. The programme brought together TWAS specialist engineers, PhD-level professionals, senior vibration analysis and propulsion specialists, as well as members of Foresea’s technical team. Presentations and technical discussions covered marine propulsion fundamentals, preventive and corrective maintenance, overhaul, thruster removal and installation, and predictive maintenance.

EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY

TWAS supports ITATUG in achieving first place at DUNA

TWAS Repair supports ITATUG Nautidesign, a CEFET/RJ extension project formed by students from Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering and the Mechanical Technician programme. At DUNA 2026, the team designed, built and operated a scale tugboat, achieving first place in the Race event. The result strengthens the partnership between industry and academia and brings academic knowledge closer to real engineering challenges.
